Been recently having issues with Windows 10 Auto rebooting. I originally thought it was solved by disabling auto rebooting in system settings. However, it just rebooted with it being disabled. Its as if someone hit the reset button. I can look into the event log and under system logs/system I see a critical error 41 signifying (The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.) It seems to not do it as much when auto rebooting is disabled, but just a couple of minutes ago it did it again with it being disabled. This system has been running flawlessly without issue for about 7 years now. Its an Asus ROG motherboard with an i7 processor and a samsung ssd . I'm hoping its not a hardware issue, but would like any help with how to narrow it down to either hardware or software. The components this system is assembled with are all top of the line parts. The first three times it did it, when it rebooted it said it was finishing an update. However, none were planned or ready. After those first three times it is simply just shutting down and rebooting. No error messages or warnings. When I first started a post here, I was typing and boom, it was as if someone had reached across my shoulder and hit the reset switch. No errors when it started back up either other than the system log.
