Follow these steps: Step 1: Start Your CUNY Application Apply online and pay your application fee. Make sure to select Queensborough Community College on your application. Please make sure to answer the Residency question correctly on the application. This will help us to accurately process your application. If you attended a high school or college outside the United States, your school transcripts must be translated into English and evaluated for equivalency with U.S. education standards. Option 1 : You can request your previous school or testing institution to submit your transcripts to the CUNY University Application Processing Center. For the time being, all transcripts emailed directly from a school counselor or other school official will be considered official. Documents can be emailed to: admissions@qcc.cuny.edu Step 3: Tracking The Status of Your Application Claiming Your CUNYfirst Account: After you submit your application, you will receive an email from CUNY with instructions for claiming your CUNYfirst account. Once you have successfully claimed your account and accessed your Student Center page, you will be able to view your application details, your acceptance, course registration and financial aid information. Select a category to learn more about your application process Freshman Students If you hold a regular or local high school diploma, or a High School Equivalency Diploma (HSE/GED) and you've not yet attended college or any post-secondary institution including business, trade or technical school, you'll need to need to submit the following documents: Official high school transcript(s) from all high schools attended. These must be in a sealed school-issued envelope. General Equivalency Diploma (GED/HSE) with score sheet attached. Students who have completed college-level coursework or AP Testing in high school will be required to submit an official college transcript/scoresheet from College Board. A non-refundable application fee of $65 payable by Debit/ Credit Card, Visa or MasterCard. Proof of Immunization for MMR if you were born after January 1, 1957. Transfer Students You're a transfer student if you've completed course work or are currently enrolled at an undergraduate college or other post-secondary institution including a business, trade or technical school. If you're a transfer student, you will need to submit the following documents: Official transcript(s) from all colleges or universities attended. All official transcripts must be in a sealed envelope from the institution issuing it or, request an electronic copy to be sent to admissions@qcc.cuny.edu Please be sure to manually type in our email address and do not use any preset CUNY Queensborough Community College tabs that may be available on the transcript request forms as the transcript will not reach our office but CUNY directly which can delay the admissions process. If you are previous CUNY student, we will have direct access to your transcript in most cases. Official high school transcript(s) or General Equivalency Diploma (GED/HSE). Students Returning to QCC (Readmission) If you were previously a student at QCC, whether in degree or non-degree status, and have not attended the College for one or more semesters (fall or spring), you'll need to submit an Application for Readmission . If you were previously academically dismissed from the College you must complete the Readmission Application for Dismissed Students . Eligibility for readmission is determined on the basis of the following criteria: Prior academic performance at Queensborough Community College Reasonable capability for improvement Ability to meet the requirements and standards of the degree program in which you plan to enroll Meets the Queensborough Community College (QCC) and City University of New York (CUNY) standards for academic retention and satisfactory academic progress Recent academic performance outside of QCC, if applicable. Please note that you are required to submit official transcripts for all institutions that you have attended after QCC. If after reviewing your request, the Office of Admissions determines that you ARE eligible to be readmitted, you will be notified by phone and/or email with additional instructions. Students who fail to meet the eligibility criteria will NOT be granted readmission to the College, and may request additional information from the Office of Admissions regarding alternative options and available appeal processes by emailing admissions@qcc.cuny.edu or calling (718) 281-5000. Although the priority deadline has passed, Request for Readmission are still being considered on a case by case basis. International Students QCC welcomes all international students. Apply as an International Student Non-Degree Students Non-degree students are not currently enrolled at a college and wish to take classes at QCC without pursuing a degree. Non-degree students are not officially enrolled in a program of study leading to the Associate degree or certificate but still receive college credit for coursework Apply as a Non-Degree Student Visiting Students Visiting students are currently enrolled at another college or university. Current CUNY students wishing to take class will register for classes via the e-permit process . Visiting students currently enrolled at a Non CUNY school are required to complete the Queensborough College Visiting student application which includes a Certification from a student's home school. Apply as a Visiting Student Military and Veteran Students The Office of Military and Veterans Services is here to assist you with your transition to Queensborough. Apply as a Veteran Senior Citizens Learning never stops no matter how old (or young) you are! Queensborough welcomes senior citizens! If you are a senior citizen (60 years of age and older) you may audit classes as a non-matriculated student on a tuition-free, space-available basis. Senior citizen students do not receive grades or academic credit. Senior Citizens who wish to enroll for credit may opt to do so on the same basis as any other degree-credit student and pay the applicable tuition and fees. A fee of $65 (USD) is charged each semester/session. Admissions Criteria In order to be admitted as a senior student the following criteria must be met: New York City Resident 60 years of age or older as of the first day of classes Applicants will be required to submit: Proof of age (Medicaid card, Driver's License, birth certificate or passport) Proof of New York City address Seniors must apply for audit only non-matriculated classes using our Senior Audit Application . Fees $65 Senior fee per session/semester due at the time of registration $15 consolidated fee per semester due at the time of registration Candidates for a second degree Students who have received an Associate degree from Queensborough Community College should complete the online CUNY Application as a transfer student. The application will then be processed internally to reflect second degree status. Students who have obtained a baccalaureate degree, or attended another college(s) since leaving/graduating Queensborough must also submit official transcript(s) from those institutions to the Admissions Office. Transcripts will be reviewed for transfer credit consideration, and such credit will be determined according to the college's transfer policy. Students for a second degree are required to complete a minimum of 30 credits toward the new Associate degree at Queensborough. Fresh Start Program Applicants Students who have been out of QCC for 2 or more years and have not attended any other schools since leaving QCC may be eligible for an Academic Fresh Start. The Academic Fresh Start (AFS) program provides an opportunity for students to re-enroll without being penalized for past unsatisfactory academic performance. *Students dismissed for Academic Dishonesty are not eligible for Academic Fresh Start. However, students that were academically dismissed (cumulative GPA that has fallen below the requirements) are eligible to apply for Academic Fresh Start. The QCC Art Gallery of the City University of New York is a vital educational and cultural resource for Queensborough Community College, the Borough of Queens and the surrounding communities.
