Hi - I am working on a Dell laptop with Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems. Today the computer stopped recognizing the installed camera. It is also causing some sort of instability with the system such that if I try to open the camera, the computer forces a restart. Our IT tried several tactics to try to resolve the issue (de-re-installing drivers, confirming Dell and Windows updates, attempted system rebooting). Does anyone have any advice? Not sure if this is a common complication of recent updates or how best to proceed. Please let me know your thoughts! I wish I could tell you what I did but I messed around with a bunch of different things. The one that I felt did work was when I went into my device manager. In the item list the camera should show up. My camera was not showing up. I clicked view, show hidden devices, then my camera would show up but disappear when I would close out and go back in. I kept repeating click, view, show hidden devices and would try to get the camera to show. I felt like the camera should automatically be showing in the item list. I restarted and totally shutdown my computer a few times and one time it started working. The camera now shows up in my device manager list automatically, so I do feel like it was something to do with that. Here is the Lenova support website, in case you want to see if they can help you. After clicking enable try to restart. I did it like a dozen times before it actually stayed enabled. I would try it but I am not clicking on my camera in my device manager for anything, now that it is working and there is so little information out there. I did find the information in google search about the device manager. I looked in my history but could not find it. Then go to Integrated Devices, make sure Camera is enabled. See if that helps.
